Not going to bring the drama
My name is Richard Dufault. I’ve been doing this for about ten years, give or take. In 2013, one of my daughters insisted I attend Ottawa Comiccon, probably just because she needed a ride. I brought my camera and ended up taking something like 800 pictures of cosplayers, just walking around the exhibitor area.
I thought to myself - “this is fun… might as well try to get paid to do it.”
Cosplay was the gateway
I started getting booths at conventions, and also offering photo shoots for friends, family and strangers.
I shot at all of the Ottawa and Montreal area conventions. I did commercial gigs, weddings, family photos and boudoir.
Over the years, I built up a word of mouth network, and while cosplay still makes up a large portion of my work, weddings and boudoir are my main focus.
I work in partnership with local photographer Nathalie Vaillant, as well as Midland Ontario-based Francyne Dufault (my big sister!) and offer a low-stress, high value experience for your big day.
